Joan Ganz Cooney, head of Children’s Television Network, said this:
“Most people who call themselves Christian would not follow Jesus if he returned today. His teachings were, after all, very radical – love your enemies, turn the other cheek, shelter the homeless, feed the hungry … I am not strong enough to be a true follower. A true follower, I believe, would have to take a vow of poverty. Jesus was quite clear on that point.”
