She had lung cancer.  She took sleeping pills, which did not work.  He then gave her a double dose of morphine.  But her stepfather, Vincent Delman, confessed that that did not work either, so he smothered her with a pillow.<\/p>\n<p>Hemlock Society advocates freedom to do this, and argues doctors do it all the time to help patients rest &#8220;comfortably.&#8221;  Rosier has no doubts about what he did.  &#8220;[Her] decision to end her own life had to do with minimizing the pain to those around her, and, perhaps, to herself.
