Do you know what they call a hammock strung between two pine trees here in Florida \u2014 a moving mosquito target.  Some say that the mosquito is our state bird.  The strange thing for us is that in our part of Florida, mosquitos are rare.  I call the hammock tranquillity.<\/p>\n<p>What is your mind\u2019s eye picture of tranquillity?  Maybe it\u2019s a day\u2019s vacation \u2014 for your boss!  Maybe it\u2019s a day all to yourself \u2014 no kids, no spouse \u2014 just you.  For me, this picture sounds good: sitting on the porch of a mountainside chalet in Switzerland overlooking a valley of lush grass while listening to old records of the YPCA quartet!  (some of you younger ones are asking, \u201cwhat\u2019s a record?\u201d  Ask grandpa.)<\/p>\n<p>Dream your own tranquil setting, but for most of us, that\u2019s all it will be \u2014 a dream.  The goal is to discover tranquillity right now in real time.  Paul had the right idea when he said this in Philippians 4:11 (NIV) \u201c\u2026 for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.\u201d  Don\u2019t you wish we could reach that state?  Notice that he said \u201clearned.\u201d  It doesn\u2019t come naturally \u2014 you have to work at it.  It\u2019s a worthy goal.<\/p>\n<p>I believe that our personal tranquillity come first from a strong faith in God through Jesus Christ, but also through an attitude change that allows us to look for the positive things in life and dwell on them.  There\u2019s a lot of negativity in the air \u2014 avoid it!  Tranquillity is achievable \u2014 go for it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tranquillity.
