They made fun of Christians and Christianity.  One day they decided that in order to defeat Christianity they must explain away the resurrection and the change in Paul and his influence on history.  One of them said, \u201cI\u2019ll study the resurrection and write a treatise showing the fallacy of it.\u201d  The other one said he would write about Paul.  They agreed to meet several weeks later and publish their findings.  On the given day they came together and Lord Littleton said, \u201cWest, what have you to say?\u201d  He replied, \u201cI must be honest, I studied the resurrection of Christ and found it to be absolutely true.  I saw myself as a sinner, I trusted Him as my Saviour and now I have peace for the first time in my life.\u201d  \u201cThank God for that,\u201d said Littleton, \u201cI studied the conversion and the life of Paul and, like him, I saw myself as the chief of sinners, and on my knees I became a Christian.\u201d  Oh, I tell you, only Christ can take men like that and make them over into the image of God.<\/p>\n<p>Ford,  Sinful Age , p. 15.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gilbert West and Lord Littleton were two brilliant skeptics of another day.
