A commandment that strikes home.<\/p>\n<p>    II. Parents are important in the Bible.<br \/>\n         A. Parents make an impact.                              1 Kg 22:52<br \/>\n         B. Parents are to be obeyed.                            Deut 21:18-21<br \/>\n         C. Parents are to be esteemed.                          Lev 19:3<\/p>\n<p>   III. Meaning of &#8220;honor.&#8221;<br \/>\n         A. The root meaning is &#8220;to be heavy or weighty.&#8221;<br \/>\n         B. Deserving of respect, attention and obedience.<br \/>\n         C. Honor must go beyond words.<\/p>\n<p>    IV. How to honor.<br \/>\n         A. Prize highly.<br \/>\n         B. Take care of them.                               Ps 91:15; 71:9<br \/>\n         C. Obey their authority.                            Ps 86:9<\/p>\n<p>     V. Are there limits on honor?<br \/>\n         A. Distinction between the position and the person.<br \/>\n         B. Parents should strive to be worthy of respect.<br \/>\n         C. Other relationships also have claims on us.<br \/>\n         D. Parents may be god-like, but aren&#8217;t God.         Eph 6:1-4<\/p>\n<p>    VI. Commandment with a promise.<br \/>\n         A. Long life.<br \/>\n         B.
