Is there anyone in this room who is not seeking after peace? Mark Twain once commented that “…from his cradle to his grave a [person] never does a single thing which has any first and foremost object save one — to secure peace of mind — spiritual comfort for himself.” Twain may have overstated the case slightly, but the truth of the matter is that our hearts do long to be at peace — peace with our neighbors, peace with ourselves, peace with God.
