HOME, SWEET HOME

I. Wandering forever as strangers. 11:13
A. “Xenoi,” a stranger and a foreigner.
B. “Paroikein,” to sojourn.
C. “Parepidemos,” a temporary visitor.

II. They never lost their vision nor their hope. 11:13
A. What it means to live by faith.
B. “From a distance.” 11:13
C. A sense of hope can help us hang on.

III. They never wished to go back. 13:14-15
A. They never quite belonged. 13:14
B. The point of no return.
C. They were haunted by the things beyond.

IV. God was not ashamed to be called their God.
A. Immigrants generally excel, because they know they can only gain.
B. He is the God of the gallant adventurer.
C. Knowing God makes all the difference.
