I. The fires of California.

II. The isolation of wealth. 5:8-9
A. Prosperity brought a building spree.
B. God’s judgment is isolation. 5:9-10

III. Party animals. 5:11-15
A. A sure sign of decay in society is the pursuit of intoxication.
B. There is nothing glamorous about addiction. 5:22
C. It matters what kind of heroes we have.
D. Once again, God’s punishment for addiction is isolation. 5:13

A. The true nature of their sin is a cynical rejection of God.

1) Is it helpful – physically, spiritually, mentally? 1Co 6:12
2) Does it bring me under its power? 1Co 6:12
3) Does it hurt others? 1Co 8:13
4) Does it glorify God? 1Co 10:31
B. Holiness must be a total way of life.
