Mental Clutter & Storage Facilities

Mental clutter. Funny, but I don’t remember being absent minded.

Storage facilities — they are everywhere. I don’t know about your area, but here in Florida it seems every crossroad has some kind of storage rental building being built. Are Americans the world’s greatest collectors of junque (fancy junk)? Maybe we should all move every 10 years just to get rid of junk. Rule: If you haven’t used it in two years, you don’t need it.

The greatest storage facility ever devised is the human mind. Each day we pour more information into it, yet we can clearly recall incidents from our childhood, even as we approach senior status. Amazing!

Just like storage buildings, we need to be careful not to clutter our mental storage with junk — it’s so easy with today’s TV trash, and it’s getting worse. Romans 8:6 (nlt), “If your sinful nature controls your mind, there is death. But if the Holy Spirit controls your mind, there is life and peace.” So which one wins? Whichever one you feed! So store information carefully, prayerfully and wisely!
