Daniel Blackwell’s wife cooked him a grilled cheese sandwich for dinner. Then she took a bite out of it. Her 55-year-old husband was enraged and went down into his basement. Soon after, she heard shots being fired. She went down to check on him and saw him surrounded by guns and ammunition.
She went back into the kitchen and three more shots were fired, making holes in the kitchen floor near where she was standing.
She ran out of the house with her children and called the Baltimore police. When they arrived, Blackwell barricaded himself in the home for a three-hour-long standoff. He finally surrendered peacefully.
Blackwell is now facing attempted murder charges. Police are having him evaluated for mental illness and to find out why he was so enraged about his grilled cheese sandwich.
Because of prior assault convictions, Blackwell is not legally allowed to own guns in the first place. He faces multiple charges.
