A Right Christmas

The day after the September 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, a woman told USA Today, “I called my mother immediately and told her I love her. You never know when your time is up, and I want things to be right with everybody.”

Christmas is a beautiful time to do just that – to take down any walls between you and other people, to be right with everybody. Especially God. Because, like the woman said, we never really know when our time is up. And the greatest peace a person can experience is knowing you’re right with God – and ready for eternity whenever eternity comes.

The Bible says, “there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all men.” (1 Timothy 2:5) A ransom – that’s the price you pay to get someone back – a price Jesus paid for you and me when He died on the cross for what we’ve done wrong. To tear down the wall between you and God.

Which could come down for you today. The peace of Christmas is the peace of knowing you’re right with your God.
